I see we still have front display issues when using any of the latest softwares.
I'm having to stay on v5.0.007, anything above this causes the front display issue.
Not tested build 13 but I did try build 11 and still no joy.
Are we waiting for a new driver or something.
Thanks.
We're waiting for a new driver from Edision.

Ok thanks for that.
Wondering if it is possible to make the front display scroll at all. I have tried a few things but I am fairly new to openvix.
Front display still not been fixed in latest openvix 13.

Were drivers updated in that version?

Obviously not?
As you've asked a question, the answer is yes.

Keep an eye on this. Click on history to see the recent commits. You want to keep an eye out for xcore or osmega
https://github.com/oe-alliance/oe-alliance-core/commits/4.0/meta-brands
OpenATV do nightly builds. You can test by installing an image after the commit date.

There was a driver commit today mentioning the front display.
[xcore] update drivers
-EDISION Universal 1 RCU_ KEY separated for PVR and VIDEO
-Added OS MEGA VFD 8/12 digit option
Will they be in the next version of vix?

Yes. When an image build is run, it uses latest files.
The next image build will be run after the forum software change. Otherwise, people wont have a forum to raise issues. You will be looking at the weekend before the next Release image is available.
That's no problem. Thanks for letting me/us know

latest = what please?
Please say the number to avoid ambiguity
And are you able to change options?
14 latest update from openvix What settings need to be changed?

There could be options in the "front display panel" menu. I don't have the receiver, so I may be mistaken.
No options for changing the number of characters to display, just brightness etc

Same here, just flashed to 5.0.014 as mine would not update from 5.0.007, so clean install, and I have no fix for the display either. There is nothing new in the front display panel settings.
Back to 007 we go again
I'll test and report back to Edision.
Still no front display fix in 016
What is the Display bug anyway?
Half the display isn't working, half the channel name is missing
Ahh Ok Cool thanks.
I've only just bought the box, so wasn't sure. Thought it probably was that, but was 100% sure.
Installed 007 that's sorted the front display
I just set up a new Mega i bought this week and was surprised to find that the display when in standby shows the date and only first 2 digits of the time, very odd.
Have also updated the box with all available updates but not different.
Hopefully as posted its something that will soon be resolved as its something visible all the time in the living room and with the 12 digits available you'd think it would be default to have them all used.

Openatv 6 and 6.1 have all 12 digits working on the Osmega
Thanks. can you navigate to /usr/share/enigma2/display/ and check the skin_display.xml file and post the line that says
<!-- This skin is at github.com/OpenViX/......
Downloaded the skin_display.xml and alternate_ skin_display.xml to desktop cannot find the line you requested. Can I post the entire xml file so you can check this is from last nights 6.1 build

That is because you are not using Vix.
I suspect issue on OpenVix it is a skin issue, using 8 digit display code rather than 12.
Would you mind taking a picture of the display on OpenATV and attach it to post.
Flash OpenVix and also take picture of the display and then attach it so we can see the issue. We only have one tester with the device.
Attach the display skin from Vix.
The next test is to use the skin from OpenATV on the Vix image and see if the problem is overcome.
Thanks in advance.

It might be just a simple change from VFD8 to VFD12 on the ViX skin.
Attached 2 photos one from Vix front display the other is Atv hope it helps. Have added xml from vix install for comparison

Not a skin issue, there are a few commits required. Not sure why they added the 8/12 option in the drivers. It should have been just 12.
Looking good, does this mean a fix could be in the works?
That would be Nice...
I've only ever used the OS Mega with the limited characters being displayed.
Would be nice to see what it should look like:)
Theres a possible fix in a our dev branch, I'll report back once tested.
Should be fixed in next release build.
Fixed in build 5.0.018, see here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?57170-Front-display-mode-from-build-5-0-018
Had to disconnect my box for a few days for decorating but have re set it up today, ran all updates and am glad to say the option is now there (and defaulted to YES on mine) for 12 digit display so when in standby it now shows full date and time instead of just the first 2 numbers of the time....looks much better, :D happy days.
Hi guys on my os mega updated to 5.0.020, I get the 12 characters but no record symbol on vfd when recording. Have I set something wrong.
