Yesterday I managed to accidentally add a timer for an unavailable channel by selecting "add timer" from the EPG search. I gather that EPG is downloaded for all channels from the provider, including encrypted channels etc. Could the EPG search be filterable for only available channels? And if not, could adding timers for unavailable channels be disabled or at least an alert set up?
My EPG is via CrossEPG from Sky Uk OpenTV - Astra2 on 28.2 (mentioned in case it's not the same for all satellites and providers).
