Hi All

I have a problem with timeshift/recording onto the HDD.

I bought the unit with the hard disk installed. It seemed never to be properly installed and eventually died after 2 weeks.

The replacement has now been physically installed but I cannot work out how to create new locations to store the various types of data. The box wants to store timeshift into /media/hdd/timeshift but then complains that this location is not EXT2/EXT3/EXT4 or NFS.

How do you use the interface to install the HDD so it is possible to create these locations?

Thanks in advance.

Your hdd needs to be formatted (initialised)
Menu/setup/system/storage devices/initialisation press ok. Then red button to initialise.

Initialise the HDD. Menu > Setup > System > Storage Devices. Once you've initialised the HDD, setup and Mount the HDD. To do this press the Blue button > ViX > Mount Manager.

What do you mean by installed?
This box doesn't have internal hdd.

Ah, it's the HD UE+, not the Ultra.
