Hi,

I am new to this and not really technically minded, so please bear with me!

I have just purchased a mutant 1500hd box. It was supplied with an external hard drive too. I managed to sort out the EPG after finding help on a thread here (thanks :) ). I have never been able to pause/play/rewind live TV. After a couple of successful recordings, I am no longer able to record. I get an error message that says the storage may be full. The first recordings succeeded at times where we were not in and no other channels would have been playing, so I am not sure if there is a problem with the feed?

On speaking to the supplier, they said the disk might be full even though the box said that there was 96% available as the EPG takes up a lot of room and doesn't show. However I deleted all recordings and still couldn't record anything. I then upgraded to a 2 tb hard drive and formatted it but this has not made any difference.

My Sat 1 and Sat 2 in are both set to 28.2E Astra 2E/2F/2G.

Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer.

Maybe

Have you fitted a USB stick and has the menu option defaulted, or has been set, to record to the USB stick? If so the stick will fill very quickly and you will get the message shown.

menu -> setup -> system -> recording and playback settings -> default movie location = /media/hdd/movie (and NOT the equivalent on a usb stick)

You have to configure timeshift in the menus to do this. By default timeshift is set to off

menu -> setup -> system -> timeshift settings -> Automatically start timeshift after = 10 seconds (or any time of your choice)
Also check the timeshift location says HDD [harddisk] rather than a USB stick. (media/hdd/timeshift/)

Thank you, I have got the play/pause function working!

Strangely, something recorded successfully this evening and the memory is now acknowledging the full size of the hard disk.

Thanks for your help.
