Hi all - anyone else seen this? Upgraded to 5.0.005 on Monday evening - all OK. Today I got the green dot and was able to download an .006 image but tried online upgrade. Green dot has gone and upgrade appeared to work but when I did post upgrade backup - it saved as a .005 file (both image and settings). Info also still shows .005. Almost as if .006 was a "phantom copy" of .005 - there wasn't much info in the release notes (which now read like the .005 ones) So should I be at .005 or .006 - as all is working might just wait for .007 unless anyone else has seen this? Thanks in advance

Hi John - yes, I did the software update but it appeared to work and is still showing as .005. That is .006 applied, no packages outstanding but still showing as .005 in Info and backup tools. I just tried couch flash and it went to .006 with good settings restore and probably my normal Plugins restore due. Yes - showing 2 updated packages now so will do an opkg. Backup Mgr and Image Mgr now creating files named with 006 in them. A small glitch somewhere in online Software Update? Thanks for your help. Doing a full Image backup before trying to get those 2 remaining packages.

You may have an upgrade/downgrade of an installed package or even a failed update

Most certain way to find out is to check by command line.

opkg update && opkg list-upgradable

Just for info...

I just tried couch flash and it went to .006.....
When you restore(flash) an image using Image Manager, you select the image to flash. It goes to whatever image you choose. It is not an update, it is a flash!

You may have an upgrade/downgrade of an installed package or even a failed updateI've just updated an Xtern et8000 to what was claimed to be 5.006 (according to release notes), and About->Information says it is now 5.005.

opkg list-upgradable doesn't report anything.

The installed enigma2 package is:

enigma2 - 5.0+git20072+3463958-r5

Of course, the release notes just list what notes are on the release server, not what release is available, although they should be the same.

If I download the 5.006 image from the Images section of the website and take a look at /usr/bin/enigma2 executable it is identical (md5sum and sha256sum) to the one now running on my et8000, which claims to be running 5.005.

Hi Abu and Birdman - I concur with what Birdman saw - thought I had done an OK Online upgrade to .006 but it showed .005 in all of: Version info, Image Mgr backup names, Settings backup names and opkg list output. I then decided to do a Image Mgr (aka couch) Flash which I realise is a clean install and then opted for Settings and Plugins restore. 1st method said I was on .005 - second method took me to .006 as expected with just two minor "opkg update" to process (fairly normal when I flash). I had consciously selected the brand new .006 download to flash. Admitedly I did not look in detail at what opkg said was outstanding when on "new .005" but the green dot on info bar had definitely gone. Like you say - one of my pkgs may have failed the online upgrade but alas there was no indication of this in opkg list or list-upgradable

AFAIK, they download the commit log from GitHub, not the feeds server.

Wait for 007

AFAIK, they download the commit log from GitHub, not the feeds server.I meant the release branch on github. Which should correspond to the images downloadable from the release server.

Just software updated my duo2 to .7 but still saying .5 in information?

Commits are made to GitHub
Images are built on Release build server
"Feeds" which are in effect the updated image components are transferred to the "feeds"/release server
Downloadable image is also transferred to the release server

The commit on Github is the first stage

I've not tried my Edision combo but I trust trust that will do the same

Do it by command line, that will show any errors.

I don't think that the feeds have been transferred yet. I may be wrong!

My Hd51 completed software update from 0.5 to 0.6. It's showing as 0.6(release).

In the process of doing the same on my edision mini. Will report back on that

Riddle is solved, I hope. 007 is still being built. You cannot update to what does not exist.

We've had a few back to back image builds this week, this has properly caused some confusion.

Think my 2 boxes are saying .5 still but updated to .7 when notification popped up. A couch flash settings restore job I presume ok?

Hi all - I had the original problem from .005 to .006 but as Sicilian said above guess back to back releases cause different status's. This evening I had a new green dot signifying .007 was available. I downloaded it in Image Manager just in case a Flash from there might be required and then tried the online update in Setup->Software Update. All went smoothly this time. No need to either couch or USB flash - that was on a Solo2. So all OK at present. Thanks team. Bangor - yes the couch flash sorted it for me and settings came back OK. Currently have below if you want to check version from the shell prompt:

root@vusolo2:~# opkg list | grep version-info
openvix-version-info - 5.0-007 - OpenViX Version Info OpenViX Version Info.

Interestingly 007 was the newest version available to download for a couch flash when i checked earlier today but doing a software update brought it up to 008 so all seems ok :)
