Box lock up / freeze

I have an issue with my box where it becomes unresponsive with the picture freezing on the screen although the sound continues to output. I am unable to change channel with the remote so have to physically switch the box off and on again. Has anyone come across this before or know how to identify what is causing this issue? I am using the latest openvix image 5.0.001 but was also happening on the last couple releases before that.

try updating to 5 002. just make sure you back up image and setting first. see if this makes a difference

You'll need to provide more info. I.e. Are you using Oscam (latest), any plugins, do you use sky card etc.

I don't have any plugins installed. I am using oscam currently version 11377. I was also using a usb flash drive for timeshift/recordings. i have removed this for now as it did feel quite hot. I will also update to 5.0.002. I will let you know if it persists.

Is the usb drive powered externally?

No its a flash pen drive formatted via the box.

After a bit of testing I have now turned off timeshift and the lock ups have stopped. I very rarely needed to rewind what I was viewing anyway so not really a problem. Pausing and recording works fine. I guess it was the constant writing to the stick that was causing the problem.
