Vu+ solo2 Network Fail

Hi all,

My network port has developed a problem,

if i do network test sometimes the ip fails and other times it works

if i FTP from my pc it fails

if i ping the box it comes back with random results from 1ms to 400ms to packet loss

i have tried with another box and it worked perfectly so i know its not my network or cables

could this be a driver issue am on vix 5 ?

or hardware fail?

Hi,
do you use a network switch? If yes do you have another one to test? When the box came out there were reports that the box does not like all switches.

I Bypassed the 2 netgear network switches and no network problem so question is what switches does it like.

Are they Gigabit switches? Check your cabling is Cat5E or CAT 6

What make of network card is in the box?

Maybe I shouldn't have put an upper case G in that. gigabit refers to the theoretical speed of your ethernet connection. The solo2 has a gigabit ethernet port and I believe if your cables are not suitable or your router is a 10/100 then you can get the symptoms you describe in your original post.

Ah, yes switches are 100/1000 switches with cat 6 cables

If i remove switches it works without a hickup.
