Image Manager / Backup Manager Question

Good Morning Vix Team,

I have just two general questions related to using the Image Manager and software update.

I am currently on Vix 4.2.21 (VU+Solo2) and see that the green icon/button is flashing and when I activate it it offers me the last 4.2.030 image in that series.

However when I activate the Image Manager it downloads for me the newest image Vix 5, I have a two-fold question,

1. Can I skip the 4.2.030 image and move directly to the newest Vix Image?

2. Secondly is there a way that I can download the newest image and save it but not actually proceed with the update, ie save it until I feel ready to update as in the past the image manager update option has not always been available for me to download.

1/ Yes
2/ Using IM to download the image will store it to your HDD.
* You can restore settings and plugins so don't be afraid to update.

Yes to both :-) backup settings and restore them into 5.0 even when you're ready.

Yes you can go to latest image directly.

Downloading image is one action. Flashing/restoring it is another. So, yes, you can download but not install/flash it.
