EPG Importer and Cross EPG Issues...

Hello All,

Fresh flash -- al went well. But no EPG.

I went to the EPG importer and tried that but never worked. Restarted GUI never worked.

From the EPG imported menu I have Rytec UK selected as the source, selected manual inport... 0 imported.

Tried Cross EPG the box crashed, couldnt telnet in to it either.

Now my box has crashed, and I just have the Xtrend screen on teh TV and teh STB.

Downloaded to USB and will try and reflash...... Sill the same bootloaded -- dont need to do anything with that do i?

I fully expect, as I found out after several hours investigation that you need to enable a swap partition. The current EPG feeds are overwhelming the the receivers, at least my Vu+Dou which only has 128MB of ram! I setup a swap partition on the hard drive of 256MB and watched as the system consumed over 100MB of real memory and 54MB of swap. Previously it always died during parsing of the EPG.

There ia no need on the ET8500 ... I use both everyday no issues.

Please don't give bad advice out regarding swap file. YES a swap file is needed for your ageing receiver (Duo) but most certainly don't need a swap file setting up on the Xtrend ET8500.

Same problem for me on my Xtrend ET10000 and the latest version of OpenVix 5.0. Epg Import does not work. "0 files imported".
I have Rytec France and Rytec Italy as their source.
I tested CROSSEPG it works well but not EPG Import with the last version of OpenVix.
For information I have flashed the new image using the USB method and restored the settings.

Just run an import of French and Italian Rytec using EPGimporter and works for me, so its not a ViX 5.0 issue ... all dependent on the Rytec sources being available.
I run both Crossepg (for UK) and EPGimporter (for Germany) every day and have not seen an issue on 5.0

I have gone back to the very start. Relfashed via USB ((which took ages -- so anyone flashing via USB wait for at least 10 mins))... Set up my channels, OScam etc, then went to EPG importer.

Set it to import Rytec. Zero files imported.

Looked this morning and it said 6:30 0 files imported.

Just ran it manually again on the off chance now and it is importing... So maybe a Rytec issue?

Possibly, but (a long time ago) I read a post that said they were not usually updated until 10.00am

Test on OpenVix 5.0 with manual download

Rytec France XMLTV = 0 Files Imported
Rytec Germany/Austria/Swiss XMLTV = 0 Files Imported
Rytec Italy XMLTV = 0 Files Imported

At the same time test download on my VU+ SoloSE with image OpenATV and with the same Rytec providers:
103897 Files Imported
For me it's not a Rytec problem but maybe a OpenVIX problem.

crossepg working fine here on vu duo2 but incredably long import time.Before it took 25 min and now 62 min.But I think it is not a problem off VIX 5 but a Rytec problem.

It's not a Rytec problem but a plugin problem on OpenVIX 5.0. Maybe need to re-install EPG-Imported plugin.

As Abu says, enable debug and post logs.
I have tried 3 different receivers SF4008, HD51 and ET8500 both CrossEPG and EPGimporter work fine for me in manual mode.

I really believe there have been issues with the Rytec feeds today.... at time in testing it was really really slow.

Setup/logs/settings turn on debug, specify where to save (not flash) and display in extensions =Yes...:)
Find logs ...blue button, log manager, No crash log, press red button for debug log ....move to PC and post.

Oddly this just started happening to me in the last couple of days. Automated download at 1400 returns 0 results. Downloading manually I can get results from France Rytek, but not UK. This is on an Xtrend 9500 running Vix 4.x

Hello,
I have just run Rytec Germany/Austria/Swiss, Italy, Spain. No problems, however, when I run Rytec Poland box locks up or crashes. I have tried Telnet to restart box but Telnet will not connect when this happens and my only way to restart box is via the rear on/off switch which can't be the recommended procedure? If need I will try to upload crash love.
