View Full Version : [ViX_Misc] Gigablue HD X3 Wifi Issues on openvix-4.2.030
Hi , cant find this model in the Prefix , I recently bought a Gigablue HD x3 with the Wifi 300mb USB Option it came i think with Openvix 4.2.027 and Wifi worked perfectly running at 300mb and link quality was always around 100/100 so today i decided to update to 4.2.030 now the Wifi is not the same its speed is at 150mb and link quality only goes to 70/70 and its not very stable when watching now
anything i can do to get it how it was on previous build ?
Thanks
its actually dropping to 7mb or lower and losing connection
Sounds like the same problem I am seeing with the kernel upgrade on ET10K's.
I think Gigablues have recently had a kernel upgrade as well.

looks like it , do you know what was last build before kernel upgrade ? might as well go back
Kernel 4.8.3 went into 4.2.029 on (some?) Gigablue boxes.
Worth checking first to see if that's what you're on. (menu/information/about or something similar will tell you.)
If you haven't got an image backup, and you're on 4.8.3, the feeds won't work to rebuild versions earlier than 029.

i didnt check as i didnt know there was an wifi issue and you had clean flash as there was a kernel change so i flashed 030 , well i'll try 29 and see adnd make my way down till wifi works as before and this time do a backup :p
028 build got the wifi working perfect again but the plugins feed doesnt work now so have to manually find the few plugins i use
hope there is a soloution for wifi on latest kernel :(
... at least there are 2 of us now with the same problem on different boxes - which driver are you using, rtl8192cu or rtl8192eu ?

the telnet command dmesg|grep rtl will tell you.
the telnet command dmesg|grep rtl will tell you.
its using rtl8192cu
its using rtl8192cuIt's using a different driver as linuxwifi is defined for the 4.8.3 kernel.
Hi,
I have an Edision OS Mini and with 4.2.030 the wireless connection very rarely connects. On restoring back to 4.2.028 it is fine (i never used 4.2.029).
dmesg|grep rtl
RTL871X: rtl8723bs v4.4.1_17245.20160325_BTCOEX20151223-654a
RTL871X: rtl8723bs BT-Coex version = BTCOEX20151223-654a
