I have just got my xtrend 8500 today im loving it so far!! 2 cable tuners and 2 sat tuners Ive one sat tuner on a fixed dish 28e and the other on a motorised dish. two cable tuners on virgin.
I have loaded my existing channel list from my old VU duo which ive customised over the years to suit my sat /euro sat use but now have all the cable channels ive just scanned on manually that need adding to the existing channel list . Is it possible to simply add a virgin bouquet using ABM without wiping my old bouquets and it creating a fresh one? Or is it a long dreambox edit process of building my own

i want it to look like this by just adding virgin bouquet in some where.

virgin uk
entertainment
movies
sports

sky uk
ent.
movies
sports

hotbird
ent.
movies
sports

Yeah you can add virgin via ABM. You will need your Net ID for your area though and the scan and you'll be good to go.

Basically plugged my sat receiver in years ago and ABM scanned since then just manually rearranged channels to my liking so happy with the channel list I have but now need virgin adding.
Ive got the net ID 6952.
If i just scan will it wipe the old sat one i have customised rather than just adding virgin?
I have never played around with ABM so not familiar with what to set it as before a scan adding a provider.

I go to providers set virgin UK as yes (all other providers sert as 'no')and select my net ID i then got to start scan it gets to about 40% and an error message comes up "Tuning failed fatal" any ideas what is wrong???

Your net is an area ID specific to your area and needs. 6952 is the global VM provider no and goes in bottom line in tuner config only.

If using ABM you would enter Net ID in the VM providers and ignore in Tuner Config (leave as all zero's)

ABM issues are meant to be accompanied with debug logs. Otherwise, lots of questions and ambiguity.

http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?44783-Requirements-for-ABM-support-questions

6952, 6887 are the symbol rates.
Enigma2 does not understand UK NetIDs. In tuner configuration, leave it as 00000.

Base NetID for UK is 61472. You must use the correct NetID when using ABM. Check the official box to be sure.

Yes using ABM in providers i selected yes for virgin UK ans set netID as 41066 manchester 2 my area. I havent touched configure its just left as 'simple'
i have already done a manual scan using 6952 and not chaned net id on the tuner its still 00000

If that Net ID gives you tune failed it will be the wrong one. You need to 100% have the correct Net ID. Attaching debug logs as per Abu's post #7 would be your best bet.

Check the NetID on official receiver. If it is 41066, you have a signal/wiring issue.

also if you live to the west of Manchester you may be on 40967 Preston1 like me...

There is a list of Net IDs here

theres no wiring issue the SNR is 94% and AGC 89% It has found over 452 virgin channels all on the box working fine. the issue is ABM scanning is crashing at 40%

When you say "it has found" the services, what is "it"?

NetID means nothing to Enigma 2 in the UK.

ABM is not crashing. It is not locking to this frequency:

netid="41066" bouquettype="hd" frequency="666750" symbol_rate="6952000" system="0" fec_inner="3" inversion="2" modulation="3"

Take a picture of the back of your receiver showing signal wires connected and attach it.

Upload screenshots of every tuner config in your receiver.

Your area means nothing. It is your NetID that is important. Have you checked the engineering menu for NetID in offcial receiver?

all i want to do is add the virgin channels ive scanned and have on my box to the existing channel list/bouquet since adding a cable tuner with out having to do this manually.

You are insisting that you are using the correct NetID.

If ABM fails (when NetID is correct), it is a signal issue. Usually wires connected incorrectly/to wrong tuner, or splitter.

ABM will use the last free tuner. You have two cable tuners, you have not showed tuner configuration for both cable tuners. nor the back of receiver.

EDIT:
They you go. No wire in one of the cable tuners. Either connect a signal wire to it or disable the tuner.

i unplugged the ethernet as its a short wire and could'nt pull box out all the way that is always connected.
Yes i only have one Cable tuner plugged in and tuner B is enabled aswell. So ive set B as not connected and thumbs up mate ive just tried a scan it worked. Dumb me!!!! :o I only enabled it because i intend on using it once i was set up properly I didnt realise it would cause a problem.
Thanks for your help and to everyone else.
