Hi all,

Been using a splitter for the last seven months to be able to view VM on my solo 2. I have had intermittent issues every couple of months and never got to the bottom of it until today. It is definitely the splitter, as soon as I disconnected this and put the vm feed directly into my router the signal immediately returns. Can anyone explain this to me and how I can get around this? Most of the time everything is fine but as I say occasionally stops working for a couple of days and right now not working at all when using the splitter.

Splitter model is called Part King 2 way splitter 5-2450 mhz

I started with that off eBay. Cheap rubbish. Get a Konig or Tratec 5 - 1000mhz off eBay or Amazon should sort it! :-)

Even with a better quality splitter you are risking reducing the power levels on your modem to unsuitable levels, a 2 way split results in about 2.7db loss per port, the only way you survive this is if your modem levels are running a bit high to start of with, if they are at the lower end of the acceptable limit you are asking for trouble.

China's finest. Just look at the insertion loss figures.

In short - no.
