Mutant HD51 well that didn't last long

Purchased from WOS got delivered this morning sat down at 10 this evening got set up with vix downloaded a new skin and and that's the last i saw of it I'm getting horizontal bars right across the front led panel any ideas please

What was the last thing you did to it?

I downloaded open vix blue hd skin and into setting to activate it and that was it nothing just the horizontal bars across the lcd panel i ftp to the box and deleted the skin rebooted and still nothing

Simplest thing to do is to flash with image again. Unless you want to debug and find issue

Tried to reflash another vix image copied HD51 file to root of USB but no joy there either

If it is a boot loop, issue "init 4" command. Using FTP client like Filezilla, look at /home/root/logs/ If there are crash logs attach to here


If there are no crash logs, we need debug log:
We need to be able to save the logs somewhere. Connect a USB drive, reboot.

Then issue the following command:


init 4 && enigma2 &> /media/hdd/Enigma2_debug_$(date +%Y-%m-%d_%H-%M-%S).log


Attach the logs to the thread

You have to transfer to PC first.

Not sure how, but you seem to have a mixture of release files.

I'd suggest you download the 027 file from here:
http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php/downloads/mutant-images/hd51/
put it onto a USB stick and flash that. i.e. start afresh.

The log also reports a missing skin. That shouldn't be (and isn't) fatal, but still it suggests more then one issue.

Good morning Abu Baniaz unfortunately had to go work will try at lunch time if not around 8pm will do it then thanks

I tried to flash a new vix 027 file earlier as suggested by birdman but couldn't get the reciever to flash just still have the vix splash screen as before
I'll run through my steps I did when I first turned on the receiver
1 followed the installation wizard got ethernet sorted
2 did a channel scan channels working perfect ie BBC 1 HD
3 assigned USB for epg
4 and here's the kicker didn't like default skin so in to plugins got blue HD skin and restarted Gui as prompted and that's it nothing else, no software or other plugins installed having had an ameiko alien 2 for a number of years I understand these things happen and am confident we'll get it sorted it's not the end world, maybe for some :)

BINGO!!! that worked up and running now thanks guys especially Abu Baniaz what did you do? and what do I need to do to avoid this in future
