FTA no signal

asking for a friend....
he has a sat receiver set up, his regular sky channels are working fine and around 90% signal quality for all those channels.
his FTA channels (BBC, ITV etc) are not clearing and signal quality is at 10% on these channels
he has a standard sky minidish as far as i know.
any ideas what the problem might be?

BBC channels are on a very tight footprint, to prevent viewing on the continent, so if dish is slightly out it could explain why the aren't working.
