Hi,

The KodiDirect plugin is very buggy and crashes a lot. So I'm wondering if there is some way to do the following:

• Using Kodi on laptop stream content from web and play on laptop.
• Set the Kodi interface to stream across my network to specific E2 device (E2 box IP address)
• Using E2 receiver and plugin (e.g.VLC) view the streamed content coming from Kodi on the laptop.

I think this is possible using VLC to VKC (laptop to E2) but maybe I'm wrong and E2 receiver can only stream from a network file server.

Hopefully someone can advise?

Hi,
try the uPnP-Renderer CoCy this can be controlled by other devices for instance a smartphone/tablet using BubbleuPnP. I think also the windows media player can use the box as a device to show videos. I am not sure about Kodi but I have my doubts as it is intended as a player not controller.

ciao

Easier to just get a fire stick with kodi on it and use that,
