Hello All,

As we go through satlelite life learning new things (new to me definitely old to some / most of you) you think how this could benefit me.... Now here goes.

In my backroom I have feeds from 3 LNBs.

2 x feeds from a static Sky dish

1 x feed from a 1m dish with a motor

In my house I have 2 STBs and 1 TV which utilise these feeds. As below

2 x feeds into my ET8500 (1 from the sly dish and 1 x feed from the motorised dish)

1 x feed direct into my TV which has Freesat

1 x feed to my bedroom which is from the Loopout of the tuner on my ET8500

My question is this if I put the 3 feeds into a suitable switch, and had outputs to the various boxes would the switch then decide which is the best LNB to use for the service I'm watching?

And for all you professionals out there what would be the best way for me to set it up?

Thanks,

FP.

PS - I really dont know about Diseqc or Mulitswitches etc...

Diseqc gives you possibility to use n+1 LNB-s (from one or multiple dishes) with 1 tuner. So it has multiple inputs (feeds from LNB-s) and output in to you tuner. In STB settings you set up which diseqc port has which LNB/satellite position. For multiple tuners/tv-s you can always get best result using twin/quad/octo LNB-s so each device has it's own feed and are not depending from others. Of course it will be more problematic if using motorised dish.

So no switch / diseqc will enable the boxes to select the most appropriate LNB....
