Can I ask a daft question?

These kits come with two units, each with 3 Ethernet ports.

The unit which is connected to the router will have 2 spare ports. Can devices be connected to these ports as well?

The one going into the router will probably only have one input port

That's what I would have thought, but they both have 3 - eg TL-PA8030P KIT.

If you google images TL-PA8030P KIT, they're all shown as 2x 3 port devices. I can't find any product details which suggest otherwise.

If you use the 3 port on the router 2 will be redundant

Thanks, so one unit has 3 Ethernet ports, and the other just one?
