any comments on using e-sata or usb externally powered hdd ones.

i have not seen e-sata for sat receivers and wondered what was special with them cheers.

There's more throughput on an Esata connection than through USB... I think in real world terms its about 5 times faster...

That's true, but you're never going to need that speed for an STB.

No but for using the stb for file storage over a hardwired connection it makes for very nippy file transfer...
