View Full Version : Sky movies don't play

I have the Edision OS mini satellite box, and I have been reading through the OpenViX manual to create bouquets using ABM. I have also configured CrossEPG as the setup instructions in the manual.
After the required files have been downloaded, I wait for a short while, then press the TV button on the remote to select a Sky movie. The screen then changes to show the small box on the bottom of the screen which shows the program name and times, but the movie does not play.

The tuner settings are Simple and Single

As far as I know, I have set everything up as it should and as per the ViX manual, so what have I missed?

Do you have a valid subscription ? If so have you set up the softcam ?

You can't just expect to scan the channels in and for the sky premium channels to work. You do need a legit sky card. No illegal line talk/card sharing talk will be tolerated on this forum so be careful where you go with this......

@Wilmore, I wasn't aware that you need a sky card to view movies when I have bought a satellite box. I watched videos on Youtube about setting the box up and part way through the guy showed movies in the menu and said they are all there look.

@Andy_Hazza, again I wasn't aware I needs a sky card. I'll google how to get one.

If your just after movies you would be far better off with something like an Amazon Firestick with Kodi sideloaded. All the movies and boxsets your little heart could desire :D

No it isn't just movies I want, it is the freesat channels etc. I already have a TV box with kodi on it.

If you want sky movies then you pay sky for them - thats how you get the card.

The manual is a bit of a joke realistically, as it only shows a couple of pictures saying what is what and there is nothing to say what the small slot is for.
