Can you for the time being connect to the router and download it?

Otherwise send a post with email and I can set Up a dropbox so you can download to a pc .... then you can stick on a usb stick and install from there.... but somwtime tomorrow.

Sounds like your USB dongle is not being handled correctly. Do you know exactly what model it is? Can you put it into a PC and obtain the USB ID? I've had problems with an RTL8192cu USB dongle, but I have sorted it out through a long process. It's fixed now, but the fix will not have filtered down into the newest release as it was only yesterday that the code was put into the mainline version. If you have an ethernet connection available to you, connect the box and uninstall RTL8192CU USB adapter and then re-install it. If it fixes the problem, then report back.

Yes Tony its a RealTek RTL8192CU

Yes Tony its a RealTek RTL8192CUIIRC correctly you should install the kernel-module-rtl8192cu package. So you'll need to login and run:

opkg install kernel-module-rtl8192cu
After a reboot this will then be used in preference to the rtl8xxxu kernel module.

If you can't login because of the network you can install it via a USB stick.

Download it to the USB stick via your PC. You'll find it at:

http://www.openvix.co.uk/feeds/openvix/release/4.2/hd51/hd51/kernel-module-rtl8192cu_4.7.4-r0.0_hd51.ipk
Insert this USB stick into the hd51.
On your box, go to the Vix Backup Manager menu, press Menu then Chose local ipk's folder.
Navigate to the folder with the downloaded ipk in and press Save

Back to the Vix menu and select Install local extension.
Press Extra IPK's and the kernel module should be there.
Select it and press OK.
Once it has finished restart the box.

Thanks, Gordon - have replied to @JIZZSTER separately, but you have put all the necessary steps in your post. Soon we will have a live release version that will handle this scenario!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue - thought it might be more widespread :p

Did you shutdown the mutant, or did the connexion just disappear while the system was running?
Are you using DHCP, or are you using a static IP address?

Saw your pm this morning @jizzster - better this is handled on-thread as it spreads the knowledge. I must say that I haven't had any issues as my box is in deep standby most of the time so it reboots every morning and always re-establishes connection with the router ok. I'm using DHCP, but I allocate a fixed IP address in the router to the dongle MAC address. Best probably to turn on debug logging and reboot the box to check the connection attempt. Have you tried rebooting the router?
