Noticed a new icon recently to the right of the update available. What does it represent and why is it always white?

Thanks, what does it being fixed white indicate? Just checked streaming client info and it reports none.

..... None.

Hmmm, might edit to grey it out if there are none.

According to Judge in the post I referred to earlier, a steady white dot means there are no active streaming connections; flashing and/or changing colour indicates active connections. The fact that the symbol is there would indicate that your internet connection is not secured appropriately.

But in that case About --> Streaming clients should show a client as well.

There is however a minor issue: as soon as a client stops it's stream, his indication in About --> Streaming clients will no longer show, while the flashing dot on the infobar may still indicate a client for some time (can be up to some 15 seconds).

So the white dot, not flashing means that the box could stream? My internet connection isn't open to anyone by the way, not even to me.

All the other icons are greyed out when not active. It is white when not active and yellow when active for this one.

Maybe somebody can come up with a 'greyed-out' version of the icon?

I would have preferred an icon that says "stream". saves all the questions.

The fact that the symbol is there would indicate that your internet connection is not secured appropriately.I don't think that's the case. A white symbol simply means no streaming clients, surely.

Well, that's an idea as well. If somebody gives me an icon, I'll see how to fit that in the skin.

why not make the icon transparant when not in use ?

Best is to have a self-explanatory icon, that's in line with the existing icons.

I've had a quick go at changing the icon, not happy with the corona around the edge so will have another go later today.
