LCD Screen backlight problem

I'm getting a problem on my Gigablue HD Ultra UE with the LCD screen. It doesn't seem to matter what I do with the brightness settings the LCD stays dark. I can see that the Picons etc are there and I can watch the OpenVix bootup screens but it's like the backlight isn't working properly. Occasionally if I hard reset the box the screen backlight works normally but 9/10 times it doesn't. Apart from this the box works perfectly.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like a hardware issue to me.
