What is the support from ViX after this annoucement:
Copy from Xtrend Alliance:
Yes, they have been taken over.... another South Korean group.
Yes, the ET8500/8000/10000 are supported and the ET10000 is still available at least in Germany if you google ... not sure about UK.
.. and they are still providing driver fixes .. although the new group appears to be still getting their feet under the table!!

I really would not not worry too much, I can't speak for ViX any longer but the xtrend brand is a very well established name within the E2 market and has been for as long if not longer than Vu+. In general the South Korean programmers have a great reputation and this just may be what the market needs to inject some much needed competition against the vastly overhyped and overpriced Vu+ brand.

but has the xtrend 10000hd not shot up in price as well. How do I know if my secondhand xtrend 10000hd is up to date re drivers and image? I am lost.

... update your box to VIX 4.2.018 and your drivers and image will be as up to date as any other extrend ET10K.

Updating your box to ViX 4.2 018 will make most of your paychannels invisible with oscam.

And what exactly can you not do with your receiver now that requires a driver update ?.

What I mean is that is that the latest is not always the best unles it brings new features not currently available in your image. And even then you have to weigh up the pros and cons to see if it's worth it to you to update.
