Hi all,
been a while since I posted on here, just thought I'd mention that I recently bought an 8500 from the sponsors, with 1 DVB-C tuner and 1 DVB-S2 tuner, pre-installed Vix ver. 4.2.013.
Only had it for a couple of days and decided I wanted another DVB-C tuner, yesterday tuner arrived and I installed it, only to discover the 1st 2 channels (can't remember what they were) I tried to record were the same as this thread http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?53060-Recording-issue.
Due to work I couldn't play about again until tonight.
After reading the forum I saw that openvix-4.1.016 seemed to be working fine for recording.
So I downgraded 8500 to "openvix-4.1.016.release-et8500_usb" and channels recorded fine.
Next step was to ftp to the 8500 and copy the drivers - dvb.ko from /lib/modules/4.4.8/extra/ to my PC before upgrading to the latest Vix "openvix-4.2.016.release-et8500_usb" (problem with recordings still in this version).
Next step was to ftp the drivers back to 8500 from openvix-4.1.016 to openvix-4.2.016, fully rebooted 8500 and all seems to be well so far.
Reason for doing this was so I could dim the lcd after a certain time, otherwise I would have stayed on openvix-4.1.016.
Hopefully be of use to someone
If you do try this - it's at your own risk, but it seems to work for me

New drivers are going to be released very soon.

The drivers released this evening seem to have solved this problem for both satellite and cable tuners.
