51403First off hello everyone- first post and still learning about OpenVIX!

After doing a fair bit of reading I bought a new vu+ solo2 from Wos
so that I could watch HD satelite and HD terestrial.

http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/VU/VU-Solo-2-Solo2-White-Editon-Twin-Tuner-DVB-S2-HD-Enigma2-Linux-Satellite-Receiver

Box came installed with OpenVix (latest)

After 3 day of messing about and reading forums, I have satellite configured,
but I cannot see anywhere in the GUI to configure the USB Turbo DVB receiver.

Plus points:

I particularly like having a full Linux CLI with package manager. :-)
Remote control over the LAN is a great feature using OpenWebIF, which DOES help because the remote control seems to be quite erratic. :-(

I have tried installing the USB turbo drivers both from the UI menu and CLI but either way,
DVB-T / C unit does not appear in 'Tuners' menu

Tehnical details follow:

I have read quite a lot on this topic before posting .
and was expecting this device to 'just work'

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

What happens when you install the drivers by command line?

opkg install enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-turbo

Thanks for your prompt reply.

As it happens I had edited the answer to your question into my First Post! :)

DOH!
I now see that the lsusb section above is an error and find that now I cannot edit my first Post.

I didn't notice that telnet session had closed whilst I was composing the message
so that lsusb output was actually from an intel laptop!

Sorry for any confusion.

is the Wifi USB Stick: https://wiki.debian.org/rtl819x#rtl8192cu

So 2b19:a111 is the VU+ Turbo USB DVB-C/T2 Hybrid Tuner

Google search for usb id found this thread
which tells that drivers have gone into openpli feed and device does work.

Enable debug logs, reboot the receiver, then upload your debug log as an attachment

Menu > System > Logs > Settings

linuxUser

auser@debian86:~/DEV/vusolo2$ scp root@192.168.1.1:/media/hdd/logs/Enigma2_debug_2016-11-18_18-19-29.log ./

Attaching the log to post may be better.

This is my first time using your forum software!

I am getting used to how it works.

Thankyou for your attention.
Sorry I have to leave now.
Will be back later.

Issue may be here. I'll ask one of the coders to have a look.

1) Flash the box with the latest image (4.2.016).
2) Connect to the box via telnet.
3) At the command line, "opkg install enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-turbo".
4) Save the Putty log of step 3 and upload here.
5) At the command line, "reboot".
6) At the command line, "cat /proc/bus/nim_sockets".
