Is there a flashing guide for the Mutant HD51 (i can't see one) I received my HD51 today and WOS did not install the Vix image !!!! (despite me requesting it) It just says IMAGE INSTALLED = FACTORY iMAGE1
I have downloaded the latest Vix image to a stick - unzipped the file and within the folder is another zipped file - is this correct ? When i have downloaded images before there's just been files in there.

Hi you should have a a file hd51 which you put on your usb then power of the box (unplug) next open the flap on the front and insert the usb stick then press the power button on the front and hold it in while switching the power back on, you should see flashing on the front display then after about 5 seconds release the front power button

Sorted now thanks - all up and running. Bit confused to begin with - wondering where things were (ABM etc) before I realised that the Vix image had not been installed !!!!

Not working for me.
1. Sandisk 8gb USB2 foramtted as FAT32. I have tried others which were all 16gb USB3
2. HD51 folder on the root
3. Plug into the front USB port
4. Unplug the power.
5. Hold the standby button in while plugging back in the power.

Just boots straight up with no flashing.

Any ideas anyone?

I use W10 to, the procedure you are following is correct but don't for get to keep your finger on the standby button untill you see the message flashing on the diplay and for at least 5 seconds after plugging power lead back in and if that does not work then you need to try a different usb stick I tend to use an old 8gb usb 2. stick

Have been doing it correctly so. I just found an old 2gb USB2 stick. Going to try that now so

some receivers are temperamental with usb stick or rather the other way round.
I tend to use hpusb or hddguru software to format the memory stick to begin with....
I think this is all documented on the flashing guides at openvix.co.uk

They're not that hard to find, have a go yourself, you'll learn a lot more that way.

There isn't one there for the HD51 which is why I asked the question in the first place
