View Full Version : Swapfile - unable to select USB

Hi there,

I've been running a Solo + for a while now, but also recently picked up an older Duo box and setup went fine. However I noticed a few crashes on the Duo so installed cacheflush, as looked like the cache was hovering about the 98% mark a lot of the time.

I wanted to create a swap file on the USB, but am unable to do so - it only lets me select HDD, even though my USB is mounted. I've tried the USB in Fat32 and ext4 and still no joy. The epg and picons are stored on the USB and they are working fine, just only have one option under the Vix Swapfile menu - HDD at a size of 256mb, I can't change size or location. I'm on the newest Vix build, and wondered how to change this to USB?

Thanks

The USB will show as HDD if no Hdd installed.

There is a 1TB internal HDD installed. And still no selection option. Does it make a huge difference if it's a 256mb swap file on the HDD rather than the USB?

HDD is perfectly fine for the Swap File, forget the usb flash drive!

Thanks for the confirmation :) Slightly OT, but does the Vix build affect the quality/stability of the line? I ask since a line from the same provider seems more stable on the Duo than my Vu+ Solo 2, which is running an older Vix build.

Is there any advantage using a swap file on a 500GB SSD for a VU+ Solo2 ???

vu solo2 does not need a swapfile
