Upload some photos of the box front and rear. Someone will tell you.

What sticker? Genuine receivers don't have stickers so pointing towards a clone at the mo.

Thats a forum link, but any genuine receiver doesn't have anything like this on. Any stickers to the rear? Also where did you buy n how much? If you tried flashing with the latest ViX image found here >> http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php/downloads/vu-plus-images/vu-solo-2/ would be a good indication.

It looks genuine to me. The sticker is a link to the BH forum. In all the times I've purchased Vu+ Solo2's for family n friends never had any stickers on them, but I do now purchase my receivers from WoS for comfort and knowing it is a genuine product and the aftercare is second to none.

If the latest ViX will not flash or recognise it does point to a clone. Have you tried flashing with BH? You have formatted a usb flash drive to fat32 and extracted the zipped file to the root of the usb? Try a different usb also.

Reason I say try flashing with BH is because that image works on Clone receivers.

You didn't actually say where you bought it from, no like like just spell it out.
If it is New, then send it back.

Im actually try to repair it for someone he told me it was genuine but i wanted to make sure i tryed using openvix but notting comes up in the lcd absolutely notting all that happens is the blue light comes on do you still think im using the wrong Image iv done a low level format and formated to fat32 and extracted the file from the zip..
Reading on google there seems to be alot of problems it the flash chip (if that is the right name)
Or is that just clones?

I've just had a look on a few sites and tbf from looking at your supplied pictures it looks like a genuine back panel.

I'm not sure I'm allowed to link to an external site with the info

Try different usb flash drives, unplug the internal hdd, use a rear usb slot to flash if the front one doesn't work. Also make sure no other usb flash drive is inserted. Did you try BH?

Maybe the lead has come out from the motherboard? Insert the flash drive to the front, power off, power back on n then press the blue power button on the front. Then leave for a couple of minutes n see if the receiver boots up?
