Anyone finding that rewind on timeshift is absolute crap? Fast forward is a lot better but by no means perfect. Running 4.2.011.

Rewind is crap on most digital media, it was crap on analogue video as well.

there is a issue that people have at moment with RW and FF. although mine seems to have fixed it self. go in setting and check timeshift etc

Not really sure that's correct. Rewind on recordings is pretty good. And I think rewind on timeshift was a lot better on earlier images.

This problem seems to be getting worse even on the latest image 4.2.016. Even on recordings it seems iffy now.
Is this a Solo2 problem or Openvix?
Is any effort been put into sorting this problem out by those in the know?

I had this issue, but seems have sorted its self. RR/FF work fine. are you recording direct from the box or transferring moves/programs via usb or ftp

And are you using Openvix can I ask? Also what type of storage are you using. Thanks

Yes, I have OpenVix. I use 1TB internal HDD for storing movies etc. I also ftp movies from my PC to the Solo2 and watch them on TV -this works perfectly fine...:)

Thanks for the reply......I wonder if the problem is to do with using external usb portable drive? Who knows!

what are the 'crap' symptoms exactly as I have never experienced any forwarding or rewinding issues?

Well the biggest problem is trying to rewind whilst in timeshift, it will jump back a bit then just pause and generally be unusable. Then it might just jump back to the beginning.
Sometimes it will work very well but most of the time it doesn't. I'm beginning to think the problem occurs when the timeshift has gone over into another program but not sure, I need to check further.
But recently even rw or ff on recordings does not seem as smooth and reliable as it used to be.

It's still no better for me on 4.2.016.....

Tried again (on ET10K), now on 4.2.006.

SDx4 works ok.

HDx4 works for a few seconds (5 or so) and then drops to x1 for a few seconds, and then back to x4 for a few seconds, etc, etc.

HDx8 works ok after a few seconds (2 or 3).
