If it is in warranty till july 2017, why have you not had the remote swapped out? It is a fault with the supplied in box remotes on the duo2, the replacement batches work fine.

The remote issue is a grey area when it comes to warranty.
My VU DUO+2 had the common issue with the down button that would only work intermittently and only worked if you pressed the down button really hard. I sent it back to W>O>S who refused to replace it as it worked now and again even though it was faulty.
I ended up paying the cost of sending the remote back to WOS then the cost of a replacement remote and delivery. This was a unusually disappointing decision from WOS who totally refused to accept there was a problem and replace the faulty remote.

I'd replace the remote with one of these >> http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/satellite-and-terrestrial/digital-receivers/vu-plus/VU-Duo-Duo2-Duo-2-Solo-Uno-Ultimo-Genuine-Universal-Remote-Control

HI thanks for the info , I had a spare remote from a vu+ duo ,I just used that infact I preferred it to the new one . I could ask w,o,s if they would exchange it , specialy if they had an issue.

Hi the item was not fit for purpose cant see how they could refuse a replacement they would have feedback from other users for sure !

Buy a harmony, you can control lot more devices and put the manufacture ones away.

Yiu can buy them as cheap as £15 and set up additional buttons ie whilst controlling box you can bring menu for telly up or control amp etc

Thanks ashley69 that is disappointing , I would have thought that an item that was not fit for purpose (having a manufacturing fault like this clearly did ,warranty does not come in to it , That's my take on it anyway, I just wonder how many of these remotes had this problem ,any idea,
