How do you update Openvix without losing all your settings ?
Im on 005 just now but the latest version is 009.

blue button => vix => backup settigs ans also bu image .After flash automatically will ask to restore

Is there any reason why online update is not being recommended?
on several models a bootloop is created.Had the same problem yesterday with online update on my duo2.Did a fresh flash with restore settings and plugins and all was fine.

Did an online update,it updated to 006 and rebooted normally.
Checked the update again but no update to latest 009 build.
Will try again later.
Trying to online update my two edision os mini's but it says 'nothing to upgrade' any reason why online updates aren't working on the os mini?

Which image are you on?
What happens if you issue the following command? (Do not do so while recordings are taking place)
init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6
Trying to upgrade from 4.2 006 which was the last image available for the os mini, reading the above posts it seems silverblack also encountered the same issue yesterday as 4.2 009 was released 2 days ago, I'll give the command a go and see what happens.

I was on 005 and the online method updated to 006 but get the same message now "nothing to upgrade" when trying again.
I know there was an issue with 008 for the os mini as it wasn't released, checking the download section 009 is there to flash from usb, least I know it's not just an issue my end and you also can't online update.
Which image are you on?

Ran the command and it ran fine, box rebooted and tried software update from the box and still saying 'nothing to upgrade'?

Did it not return anything . Whole idea is for you to post it so others can see and assist.
Might as well as flash 009 and restore plugins and settings now. Make an image backup if you want to be extra safe.
I ran the command and it said it was downloading/ updating feeds or something along them lines and the box rebooted but no change, I'll just flash and restore over the weekend.

I have an OS Mini+ and getting the same - currently on 006 and online update gives me 'nothing to upgrade'. So I backed up settings, using backup manager, couched flashed 009 and then restored during FIW, but the skin I was using (slyk) did not restore, so I restored back (using image manager). Is there a way to back up the skin through backup manager?

opkg update && opkg list-upgradable
and post the output here.

What is slyk? Do you mean SkyQ skin? If so just use the ipk to reinstall.

It's not the SkYQ skin, it's called 'SlyK 1 HD v5', which I installed using an ipk. It took a bit of tweaking to set up the way I wanted (layout, font sizes extras.xml, etc) so was hoping that backup manager would be able to restore these, if not I guess I'll just have to re-install and set up again.

Your settings will have been saved, you just need to reinstall the ipk!!

If you have modified the skin.xml file, save it first. That is not in the backup.

Couch flash only takes a few minutes. Do a backup. Then download latest image from image manager, restore n then restore your backup.

Silverblack online update is broke on the os mini not sure if 011 will fix the issue.

If someone flashes 010 (no restores) and tries to update to 011 does it work?

there may be issue with the feeds. Huevs mentioned something abut kernel versions being different. he cannot check
Not sure Abu is 011 out to online update? I ask as I can't find it in the download section or in image manager?

The images need to be transferred over. an online update should be available as "feeds" have been transferred
Ok just done a fresh flash of 010 with no restores and still no online update either on the box or with a telnet command so looks like the issue persists.
Release feeds for that box are still not right.

Problem solved. I've just updated from 010 to 011 using online update. Thanks.
Yep just tried the software update option and 011 is available thanks vix team for correcting the issue.
