No software updates and not able to download plugins

For several days now, when I either try either a software update or to download plugins, I get the message "There is a problem. Please try later. If the problem persists, go to openvix.co.uk." I have looked at openvix but can find no solution.
Can anybody help please?

What version are you on? If you are on a version less than 4.2 then there may not be support for your version anymore.
If on 4.2 a restart usually fixes this, I had to do it with my duo2 yesterday, but not my solo2 or solo4k.
