Hi there.. im about to order 1 of these boxes but im not sure what firmware i should get installed.. i use Cable/VM if that helps...

Is this going to be your main box or a bedroom / occasional box. If the former then I will let you know that they are a tad slow that can be a bit annoying.

you're up early.... :)

Not just about comparisons the box is slow to respond.

we just recently added a mutant 1500 to our setup and it is noticeably slower than that too.

It's the same sort as response speeds as other receivers using the same cpu, I don't think it's slow at all. Hd1500 is different cpu.
