Hey Guys

I have an LG smart TV (49UF680V) and i would like a way for sound to come out of the main TV and for me to have some portable speakers of some sort that i can place behind my bed. This would be really helpful esp at niight because i would like to turn up the volume but other people are sleeping in the house. It would be so perfect if i had speakers right behind me giving me clear audio so i would not have the crank the volume up too much.
I do not thing this TV has built in bluetooth. I only have 1 USB port. Any idea if this is possible and what stuff do i need to buy?
Thanks

something like that will do you, they plug into the headphone socket of your tv.

LGs don't have headphone sockets these days.

They have got Bluetooth though, could use speakers with Bluetooth receiver dongle.

I don't really want headphones because I want my wife to be able to hear the audio as well. Just something to get sound to come out behind my bed. I don't have Bluetooth on my TV so what can I do to get around that?

on an old tv i had a headphone socket and used a set of powered speakers via internal batteries and a switch for my rear headboard on bed.

I just spotted that my tv has not got a headphone socket. So that is out of the question.

The only thing to check with this 'solution' is does the optical output only work when the TV tuners are being used or does it also work when an external source such as a an Enigma box is being input via HDMI.

My Sony has a setting in the menu to switch the audio output from internal speakers to Optical and vice versa. It'll be worth checking your manual.

Looking at some of the reviews for this dongle yes. Check it out and make sure it's compatible with your TV first though [emoji1360]
