So my nano3t has been crashing alot it's becomming a useless device under my TV.

I mainly use the box to record certain programs and dont oftem watch TV live but recently the box has been crashing far too often.
just today I went to look at the update log and it rebooted. but it didnt seem to be the cause as when I left the box alone it would again reboot several minutes.

Is Openvix designed specifically for a certain family of boxes.
Is there an image that has more support for the nano3t ( openATV? )

I appreciate this is a community driven project and it isnt anyways job to produce 100% working images. I'm not a programer but I am technially minded. I work as a service desk analyst for a cloud commputing company working towards becomming a network engineer. The best I could ever do for the community is donate but I'm not compelled to until I see a stable enough image.

I'm on 4.2.005
tuned to freeview and freesat in the winter hill/granada region.

The following is the last output from my box BUT this doest reflect the creahes I was experiencing as it crashed about - 6 times after the timestamp on the file below.

apark from message and dmesg are there any other logs to check?

I dont see why the thread was merged.. I cant even edit the post now and your tags are not attached so it cant be seen as a technomate post. should have just deleted the one from the techomate forum.

anyone want to at least try an help me and answer my questions instead of just shooing me away to another image.

edit: posts are out of order now...

I merged the two threads. They are more or less identical. You'll have people respond in one thread and others in another.

EDIT: The posts are in chronological order

It is better to upload the whole crashlog as an attachment rather than post just the last bit. Even better to upload a debug log.

You were not shooed away, I suspect it was a case of "try another image and see if it has the same error/issue"

There doesn't seem to be any link to your log...

ok the posts are in order now.

it's stopped crashing for now but I have enabled debug logs.

I have feeling I've experienced different crashes. the log I have attatched doesnt seem to reflect the constant looping about 5 - 6 times after this log based on the time stamp.

Do you normally reflash or use software update to update your image version?
About the only thing I can see in the log is you checking for the software update before it crashes.
So I would be tempted to turn off software update check, backup your settings, reflash, restore settimgs and see what happens.
Nothing to lose whilst others more experienced view the log :)

I cant even edit the post now...You're only allowed about 20 or 30 minutes to edit posts before the option is gone.

I reflashed to 4.2.002 and since used software update to .005, I did indeed do an update check. while looking at the change log it crashed.
