So since updating my ET8000 to vix 4.2, SD channel quality is very poor, visible lines on faces, rough jagged lines on cartoons etc.
I know people are aware of this and Abu made a script to run that kind of sorts the problem, but this script needs to be run each time the receiver comes out of standby. Which gets a bit much after a while.
Ive now gone back to vix 3.2 to fix the problem.
Im guessing its a driver issue?
Ive even read it could be skin related, but im getting the same issue with every skin ive tried, including the default vix-night HD skin

Does anybody know if this problem will be fixed in future image releases?.
I would like to beable to update my receiver so i can take advantage of the latest features.

Do you get the same problem on your ET8500 or 7500 twol?

As a support forum I was expecting a better response from the image creators to be honest.

Although im greatful for the time and effort they put into a image.....there must be an answer for this.

If it is driver related...cant the drivers from vix 3.2 be used?

Could this be something that could be looked into for people who own xtrends or the other receivers mentioned?

As i say i would like to keep my xtrend upto date if possable.

Cheers

ET8500/7500 - Short answer is No :)
Also as the drivers are in the OE-A and therefore are automatically part of all the Images that are part of the OE-A you would have expected this issue to be widely reported, but I have never seen other reports.
Having said that, I have been a long term user of plasma TV,s where there are some visual defects that are only seen by a small % of people, they are there but most peoples eyes don,t see them, which has lead to a few very agitated people on the AV forums.

There's been no changes in this area or driver updates by Xtrend.

Also just to make sure, if you have any picture enhancement features on your TV (likely and on by default), turn them off if possible.
These largely marketing gimics have caused more issues than solutions :)

To be honest mate i hadnt ruled out my tv being at fault at first, but then i noticed the same issue when streaming to my tablet and mobile.

Thats when i did a search here and stumbled across the 2 threads in my last post.
Which is the exact same problem im getting. Solid vertical lines mostly seen on peoples noses...hence Abu's script "linesonnose"

Im no expert but running the script does solve it, which to me suggests its altering something within the image? Thats why i assumed it was a bug...that and the fact my box runs sweet as a nut on 3.2.
Ive tried adding the script to the cron timer. But you can only get it to run hourly....so if you come out of standby sometimes you have to wait for the timer to do its thing.... ive tried manually setting the timer to run every 10 minutes using */10 * * * * but it doesnt seem to like this and the script doesnt run.

Would be great if this could be sorted.

Thanks for the replys guys.

It is not my script, you must credit @aido for it

The script was all yours mate, I just found the command which seemed to sort the issue out :)

I swapped over to an LG E6 now and the picture quality that comes out of the LX3 can be absolutely incredible

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
The thread showed aido suggested a script be made and then Abu posted it.
There was no real mention to who the creator was.

But still it works as a temporary fix, would be nice to see a more permanent fix so i could update my box.

Hi kryton, I'm the thread starter for one of the related threads you found.

I first noticed this issue with Vix 4.1. Was hoping 4.2 would sort it, but no joy. Next step, 3.2 downgrade :(
