Anyway I could I tell if it's a faulty tuner? Or if it's packed in?

You are using TOP input aren't you? What exactly are your tuner settings?

You could test the tuner by setting it to DVB-T2, connecting to standard TV aerial and run a scan for terrestrial.

I seem to recall someone having an issue after they added a skin. Have you added a skin or any other modification?

Hannaman
17-09-16, 14:43
Yes using cable in I havnt messed with the inputs as it was working until a few days ago. Il try terrestrial aerial here and see what happens.

Hannaman

Try settings the Tuner setting back to default 00000 and whatever the bottom setting it as default. ABM should still run.

loads are still blank but if you leave it on the blank channels something is trying to come through. Do I need a signal booster or something like that?

Hannaman

i have 2 gigablue boxes and both have 2x cable tuners installed - only one tuner in each of the boxes is working (only noticed it today when recording something)

both boxes have 1x dvb-c/t nim sp8221l tuner and 1x dvb-c/t2 nim s14768 tuner
on both boxes its the dvb-c/t2 nim s14768 tuner that isnt working??
we had an issue like this on an earlier version of VIX

i notice that you have the same tuner that doesnt work on both my boxes - coincidence??

Hannaman

17-09-16, 17:46
Which image? Exact version please

You could have a signal issue. What is the official receiver like?

Hannaman
17-09-16, 18:14

Hannaman

Try installing 4.1 016. If that does not work try the last image you had.

You need to establish whether you have an active DVB-C signal.

Hannaman
17-09-16, 18:47
That's the thing mate I know it's active as its been working right up until last usb flash update it was actully working earlier after flashing back to 4.2001 I had no signal but was picking up a lot of channels but after a restart the channels failed again

Hannaman
17-09-16, 18:56
If I go to signal finder an go through the transponder list I get signals from certain transponders but when I zap to a channel it picks up it says service unavailable

Same happening here, fresh installed new image with no restore and no skins.
ABM scan said time out at the beginning, 2 restarts and 3 attempts, found all channels.
They are grey and says "service unavailable!check tuner configuration!"

Sat is working.

Any ideas?

Not only cable wasn't working but now after fresh instal can't even access plug in, says " There has been an error, please try again later. If this issue persists, please check openvix.co.uk or world-of-satellite.com"

I did 3 fresh installs already

Reboot the reciever and try again, no need to flash constantly! There an issue with the feeds server that is being looked at.

Regards the tuner, please try latest OpenATV or Openmips and report back if they have an issue or not.

Just a wee update on this, seen a guy with same problem on another thread he reverted back to 3 2 005 and it sorted for him. I done the same but there was no wifi driver setup at that build so i flashed 4 1 001 and iv got 95% of virgin channels back the rest are trying to tune in but no luck. Im happy enough and as that guy on that thread said this will be the last gigablues i get.
