View Full Version : [ViX_Misc] Suggestion for epg channel numbers position

Have flashed the latest image 4.2.005 and everything is working great no problems at all.

But could I possibly request a slight change that I think would be an improvement and that is to put the epg numbers first and then the picons and then the service name.

At the moment the numbers do not stand out and blend into the service name as they are the same colour.

Would be interested if others think this is a good idea!

In update 4.2.004 the numbers were first, with picons in the middle and service name last??

Or i could be going insane and it's just me/my box!!

They are that way round in the vertical channel list but not the main epg......is that what you're thinking of?

When I updated to 4.2.004 the picons were in the middle :

50272

and then when i updated to 4.2.005, they were moved to the left :

50273

as i say it could just be me or my box but as far as i'm aware i didn't touch any settings, just updated to latest version

So it looks like it was changed either deliberately or accidentally in vix 4.2.005!

I think it was done because of the gap between the channel numbers and picons

Looking at your bouquets tabs. Did you change to autobouquet E2, this could have effected the picon position

no, still on ABM, but i have manually edited the usageconfig.py in usr/lib/enigma2/python/components on line 748 to reduce the width to 50

As default, the minimum picon width on graphical epg settings is 70 but this left quite a gap between the channel number and picon, so i set it to minimum 50 in the script and i have the picon width currently set at 60, along with the service width at 200 and font sizes 0

Maybe in a future release they'll give the option for both (service number / picon / service name ; or picon / service number / service name)

or someone may know how to amend the change manually?

But were there not various bugs in previous versions which is why I waited and went straight to .005

There's always bugs and errors , There may be a manual revert but I personally am not sure what file / script could be edited to get it back to how it was before, wish i could help more, i had a brief look in some of the files but not too sure

No disrespect fellas but it's not as simple as that. They have to do things in such a way that it appeals to as many users as possible after all sky uk is only a tiny part of the global satellite market and a percentage of the overall ViX user base. Believe me I was a Member of the ViX dev team for 5 years.

That said however, if enough users request a feature or change to existing settings then it is likely to be put into the image (but not always).

Couldn't they add an option for alignment of numbers or picon like openatv github has for service name
