I have an old TV (non-CEC), but it can go into standby itself if it gets no signal - problem is my GB Q+ seems to be still sending a signal during standby.
Specifically I put the GB Q+ into standby (Power button on the remote), and TV gives me a "no signal message", and after a couple of seconds goes into its own standby, but after a couple more seconds it comes out of standby again! I'm guessing that when the GB Q+ sees a drop of the HDMI and then sends a fresh signal that then wakes up the TV.
Deep Standby works as expected, the TV goes into its own standby, but it is impractical to use this vs. regular standby.

Any ideas folks?

This is a known problem with many STB's, also for using automated HDMI-port switching.
Alas this is a hardware (or possibly a driver) issue, so nothing we can do about it.

Not sure about other manufacturers, but VU is aware of this issue for years, but refused to fix it (even when they released new boxes).
