Sometimes the large brightly lit LCD display on the ET8500 can be frustrating in some environments such as the Lounge :)
So in 4.2, a facility has been added to automatically dim the display after a set time period to a specified brightness.
Obviously when you change something via the remote, the screen reverts to the normal brightness setting so you can see the current information on the LCD display :)
To set up, go to Menu/Setup/System/Front Display/settings and change:
Dim delay: to the required interval
Brightness (Dimmed): to required setting.
I typically auto dim down to black (no display) after 5 minutes :)
