I am running my White card with CCcam.

There is some major difference in response time between the internal reader in Vu+ Duo and the Smargo.

With the card in internal reader i get about 0.110

With the card in the Smargo i get about 0.250

Is there anyway to improve the speed of the Smargo and is it safe to run the white card in the internal reader of Vu+ Duo?

Internal card slot its safe, acutally card remain quite cool. Set the frequency with the line below in CCcam.cfg. Change to sci0 to sci1 if using the lower slot.

SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 3570000

Regards the smargo you could try over clocking the card, will be fine, change USB0 to suit your setup: -

SERIAL READER: /dev/ttyUSB0
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQENCY: /dev/ttyUSB0 6000000

Another thing, are you using a genuine smargo and what firmware?

Try overclocking it as posted above, will be fine in the smargo.

I do as you told me to run in the internal reader instead, it should be safe and i didn't notice any heat from the card.

I am just questioning why the Smargo is so much slower, it's very odd, must be that is connected thru the USB interface or something else that makes the signal travels further from the card.
