Helllo to all.

Some time ago I buy fro ebay a vu duo original. Has an old image (dreamelite bh 1.1) and work OK. Few days ago I install last black hole image, but receiver not works; I upgrade cfe (3.0), then I install last image. Starting image and logo rotate always.

With old image (up to june 2010) all is ok, but I dont have sound on hdmi (image has just DVI). Euroscart is ok and I not have that error on dmesg. Last image thas work is DreamEliteBH_VUDUO_133D_USB.

I change 3 x AOZ1212 and capacitors. I use null modem cable for nfi image.

Why can't upgrade to the last image? Or how upgrade last image?

Thanks for your help.

How do you know its genuine, especially given you bought off the worst place for clone receivers? Sounds to me like a clone, especially given it won't take newer images. Apollo Build 21 (I think it was) was the last build clones could take.

It's not a clone. 100% original.

Doesn't sound like it, thats why you're having issues.

Few 2 week ago I install last BH image (3.0.2) and I make update online. All was good, except hdmi port; no image on hdmi (just euroscart). I reinstall another image and spinner rotate always. Now I back on old image that work (black hole 1.3.2). On this image I not have sound on hdmi; I have dvi, scart and component.
And if you know something, please help me. If not, dont tell me that I not have genuine vu duo.

If it works with an older image and not with the latest it is a clone.

Please, read up. IT"S NOT A CLONE! I installed last black hole image (3.0.2) and I made online update. With a clone you can make this?

looking at screen shots , dream elite BH isn't a genuine BH IMAGE, it's a patched version based on original build Andy Hazza has advised you of last Open Vix that would work on clones, for genuine BH it would be images released before December 2013 , which would be roughly BH 2.0 4as cut off point TBH it does look like you have a clone

Load latest OpenViX. If it doesn't load the box is a clone.

Andy_Hazza

On latest blackhole image use a swap file.

Did you try first image from black hole? First time was dreamelite team, then it appeared 2 teams; black hole (not have image for dreambox) and dreamelite team - image for dreambox.

Load latest OpenViX. If it doesn't load the box is a clone.
I try last genuine black hole and I make update online and was OK, but HDMI port not working.

I think it's a hardware problems. If I leave 2-3 weeks without connected on 220V work to install last image, but HDMI port NOT WORK!!!!!

On latest blackhole image use a swap file.

Please explain.

Because you mentioned constant logo rotate, enabling a swap file might help. I've not used BH in yonks, and have no desire to do so, so can't give BH instructions only ViX. Sorry.

The same problems; http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?31717-VU-Duo-won-t-fully-boot

If its genuine, you would have no problems installing the very latest image. But because you can't, its pointing in the direction of a clone unfortunately.
Try different usb sticks to flash the latest image, making sure you have formatted the usb to fat32. Also make sure no other usb devices are present and you could also detach the HDD and see if that helps.
On the rear of the receiver, does it say anything like v1.0, v2.0 etc?

I know how install new image (with usb or with VuUtil). Hehe
And the receiver it's 100% original (no stiker or something else).
Maybe it's flash memory (K9F1G08U0C-PCB0 128MB), STV6417,FMS6363CS or maybe capacitor from motherboard.

Andy_Hazza
20-07-16, 20:54
Fresh flash wipes the flash memory so won't be that. Dunno about capacitor as you can flash older images. You need to find ViX Apollo Build 021 and that will determine if its clone or genuine.

Link, please?

And if is before 06.2010 work 100%.

Andy_Hazza
20-07-16, 21:11
No Apollo Build 021 is later than that. Maybe late 2014 early 2015, so if works will be clone, any builds after 021 n don't work even more so a clone. lol
Try googling for it, I don't have it, sorry.

Try flashing latest bootloader. Found here >> http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php/downloads/bootloaders/venton-unibox-bootloaders/vu-duo-bootloaders/
Like I've said previously use a different usb stick and make sure its formatted to fat32.

Got to be either usb problem or a receiver issue (clone), no other explanation imo.

Hello again,
I have another problems; I replace few capacitors from motherboard (hoping the elimination of causes) and wiring was exfoliated. Where coming plus capacitor C665 (near euroscart - 220 mF/50V) and plus C264 (near network and usb jack - I replaced with 220 mF/25V).
Thanks
