Hi I'm new to the forum. Please accept my apologies this may have been asked countless of times before me but it's all too confusing

Currently I own a skybox v8s now I want to switch over to cable (virgin) I've been told with a cable box you have the ability to watch in HD

I don't have a big budget and I don't need to record one channel whilst watching another either.

Can someone please point me in the right direction not sure which box I need

Thanks in advance

This would be my choice. Others may recommend something different. This box needs and external hard drive or USB stick for recording. I have bought 4 of these and so far so good,

Could look at these also;
Miraclebox Mini >> http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/satellite-and-terrestrial/digital-receivers/miraclebox/Miraclebox-Mini-Hybrid-DVB-C-T-T2
Vu+ Solo SE v2 >> http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/satellite-and-terrestrial/digital-receivers/vu-plus/VU-Plus-Solo-SE-V2-2x-DVB-C-T-T2
With the Vu+ one you can install Kodi too if that floats your boat.
