View Full Version : Recordings failing part way through

Hi,

I am experiencing problems when recording programs on my new technomate nano-plus-se.

I have a couple of programs setup on autotimers, however the entire program is not always recorded. The recording stops part way through.

A 1 hour programme sometimes stops after a couple of minutes, sometimes after 40 or 50 mins, and occasionally it records perfectly.

I have tried 2 different internal hdd. Even if the recording has stopped, the recording light stays on as if it is still recording.

Is there a way of looking at some sort of log to find out what is causing my recordings to fail?

I also have an issue where once I am in timeshift mode, via pausing or rewinding live TV I have no way of exiting timeshift mode without changing the channel. Not sure if this is related. I have been through the settings and tried comparing them with another box, but not found anything yet.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Completed timers are kept in the timer list for a few days. Highlight one that has failed and press info.

Thanks for the reply, pressing info appears to give me :-

2016-07-10 17-57 - activating state 1
2016-07-10 17-57 - Found enough free space to record
2016-07-10 17-57 - Filename calculated as:'/media/hdd/movie/20160710 - Ch
2016-07-10 17-57 - prepare ok, waiting for begin
2016-07-10 17-58 - activating state 2
2016-07-10 17-58 - start recording
2016-07-10 19-04 - activating state 3
2016-07-10 19-04 - stop recording

This all looks fine to me for a one hour programme, but when I access the file from list, it only plays 2 mins, and the progress bar says it is only 2 mins long when I open the file.

Ocassionally I do get the full programme, but it is quite rare.

Is the filename as you've indicated?

I get something like this.....

Filename calculated as: '/media/hdd/movie/20160706 1258 - BBC TWO HD - Wimbledon 2016'

I think it just doesn't fit on the screen, I assume it would say Channel 5 .....

I have a feeling I might have found the problem, it would appear tuner B may not be working. Something tried to record today, and it changed channel. I have looked in service searching and can't find anything on tuner B.
