downloading plugin PermanentVFDclock crashes the box, continuously in a loop

I downloaded the plugin Permanent VFD onto Edison os-mini and it simply crashed the box :(
It was in a continous boot/crash loop.
Flashed with latestimage and to ensure that it was a bug I downloaded the plugin again and same crash.

Now reflashed and not downloading again! :)
Over to developers...
