I have set up the box with Openvix 4.1.010 initially via LAN ethernet but now want to switch to wireless LAN.
However, I can't see the option in Menu/setup/system/network/device set up

The only option I have is Network setup which is bound to the ethernet LAN.

Short of reflashing do I have any other options?

thanks

Should have LAN and wifi options in Nerwork Setup if the box supports Wifi.

I know, you're right Andy but I don't see the option of ethernet or wlan when entering device setup. I have another box and i do see this dual option. The only difference with this and other box is that this box is current version of Vix.(.10)

Correct drivers not installed?
Not sure what drivers your wireless card needs but sure someone else can...

Correct drivers not installed?
Indeed: that can be the only reason.

ok, is there a way of updating drivers without re-flashing?

Is the wifi via a usb dongle or built into the receiver via hardware?

built-in via the hardware

So my understanding then is the receiver should have the drivers preinstalled with ViX already.

Menu > Setup > System > Network. So are you saying in Device setup you don't have a Wifi option?

That's right, yes

I have been informed that you will need to reflash via USB due to a Kernel upgrade recently. Once reflashed the Wifi option should be present.

Could have been flashed prior to the update and if an update took place could have upset things especially with it being a Kernel upgrade.
Let us know how you get on buddy. [emoji4]

Did you online update? Recent build included a Linux kernel update.

Hi, yes I did, as I always do.
So, every time there is a kernel update/release you have to reflsah the edison?
Is there anyway of downloading the driver via a plugin?

If not is it ok to restore backed-up settings on the reflash?

Kernel upgrades are not very often.

Ok, thanks Sicilian, I will take that as a reflsah.

I think this latest release has screwed up my other Edison box too and that is connected via LAN.
Perhaps a Sticky warning needs to be released?
