Tryed set motorised dish up failed got expert in ,he set dish up to hotbird 13e scanned got 72 services only a few work ,dont seem to be able to find any other sats ,am i doing something wrong:(

Goto Menu, Setup > Service Searching > Manual scan, then set as follows: - (use left, right buttons to change the fields)

Tuner = Tuner where motor dish is connected to.
Type of Scan = Single Satellite
System = DVB-S
Satellite = Hotbird 13deg

Leave others as default but change network scan to yes.

thanks for that tried it again still only get 72 ,put 53.72n lat 1.35w lon for my area ,set motor to zero chose a program for hotbird rotates there get 72 tried program for astra just keeps flashing up rotating i must have something wrong could dish still be wrong

There are many ways your dish could be out.
I'm no expert, but I would say the best way to start alignment is to start at Thor 1w.
This is the top of your arc, and closest to zero, well it is for me.
If mount is 100% plumb, and both dish and motor are at correct settings, once you tune 1w, all other sats fall into place.
If you can only pull in 13e, and east or west detects no other sats, then you must re align your dish.
