View Full Version : [VU+ Solo2] Strange crashing this evening
Hi guys,
I would really appreciate it if someone more cleverer than me could take a look at my attached logs and see what my issue is. Sat watching a recording this evening and out of nowhere the solo2 crashes and turns off. I pressed the power button, it started up but then went and crashed again twice. I couldn't get anything from the screen before it went off so any help is much appreciated.
Sorry wrong log attached to first post, this was a separate issue yesterday. So I went to add the 2 logs that were shown but they are showing empty. When I try to add to this post I just get an error. When I try and send from the solo2 I get this
Errno146(connection refused)
Can anyone shed any light on this for me please?
So it's just happened again whilst watching a recorded programme. I managed to get a pic this time before the screen went off.
I did see that it said STOP THREAD whatever that means.
Seems like the internal disk is full...

It looks like you have run out of freespace on root (your box).
Where have you got EPG and timeshift (if applicable) saved?
Can you telnet into your box and type:
df -m
Flash:
Total 194.8M
Free 396.0K
The crashes were occurring last night each time a recording finished, however just come down stairs and the receiver is off. There seems to be a couple more crashes occurred during the evening.
Timeshift is saved to media/hdd/timeshift
Epg is saved to media/hdd
Where can I check what is saved to internal flash guys? My picons maybe saved to internal flash but can't think of anything else.
You need to find out what has filled your flash up and then tidy that up else the box will continue to crash.

What plugins have you downloaded/installed?
Also, do you have Kodi installed?

Use cache flush plugin. Have a swap file enabled too?

YOU CERTAINLY DO NOT NEED A SWAP FILE AND/OR CACHE FLUSH PLUGIN FOR THE VU+ SOLO 2.

I agree. I have a vu+ solo 2 with all the usual plugins including Kodi and never had any problems. I still have about 57Mb free flash memory.

I use The Beast on my Kodi and a clear cache option is available in the menu's. What picons are you using? If the MK ones they are big files and maybe move away from your flash?

Hi Andy,
I have used the MK picons since day one and never had these issues before. I haven't even used the kodi plugin for the last few weeks, my issues just appeared last night. Ideally I need to find a way to look at what is saved on flash but don't know the path for this, anyone help please?
Just noticed this log from overnight crash shows some info unlike the others.
I have removed TS Media, I remember that this updated yesterday automatically when I clicked on it, I don't use the plugin anymore anyway so that will surely help with the flash. I'll have to wait and see what happens with tonight's recordings and overnight.
You need to find what's filling your flash, or just re-flash.
Try in telnet:
find / -size 10M
To find any large files.
Tried that judge, get an error - invalid number 10m

Try following
find / -size 10k
Apologies guys. Gut my vu models mixed up! ;)
Try following
find / -size 10k

Might be easier to reflash.
find /-xdev -size +10k -exec ls -l {} \; should work.
find / -xdev -size +10k -exec ls -l {} \; should work.
