My solo 2 wont access the internet and when I run a network test it comes up everything ok except IP address is unconfirmed and Nameserver is unconfirmed, I have also tried to restore the box via backup manager and it wont let me.

What have I done wrong??

Just do a fresh install of the latest VIX image,...................fixed in no time.

I take it I will have to do it via usb and not restore any old settings etc?

Well,...it's what I would do,.....all Cams, epg, Picons, are so easy to do with VIX.
That's why I changed from BlackHole in the first place.

Was thinking more about auto timers etc

Put the receiver into sleep mode first with a telnet session and copy your timers.xml and autotimers.xml files to your pc. Then once your new image is installed reverse the process and copy them back and restart the receiver. Job done.

Meat to also say that , when try to back up or restore it comes up back round update check currently in use.

Just take a copy of the autotimers.xml and any other settings you want. Most are in /etc/enigma2 I think but I'm not at home so can't check. Then copy back after reflashing.

you can use this little program from gold wafers dot com to do the job for u

check on net and search, called Vu+ control centre

then copy back

Try rebooting the router: this often helps in such a case.
Obviously first check if the LAN-connector is attached firmly, and try an other cable.

The box come back on-line shortly after I posted this but still wont restore an image from the box, so its time for a fresh flash I think.

I recently had the same with one box; I tried everything I could, including flashing and pulling out what's left of my hair. In the end only a router reboot did the trick.

And: is all OK now?

I ended up re-flashing the box which was much easier than I had initially remembered.

Thanks.
