My freeview HD channels are at a certain volume level, then when I go to sky sports 1, the volume jumps up dramatically.
Is this just the way it is broadcast?
Any way of having all channels the same volume?

Hi,
which audio track do the channel have. With MPEG sound the STBs can control volume and with AAC/AC3/DTS they cannot. To adjust the levels a bit set the volume on the box at 95%, disable downmix and control volume with AVR/TV.

That looks to have solved it thanks.
I had downmix switched off but my STB was running at 100% volume.

Can I just ask on a different subject -
Is it possible to rewind TV that is live like on sly?
If I have left the room and forgotten to pause TV, I am unable to rewind.

Menu -> setup -> System -> Timeshift settings -> Automatically start timeshift after = say, 5 seconds

5 seconds after you change channels the program you are watching live is also being recorded in the timeshift buffer (hard disk) and therefore you can rewind it.
